How to choose the best earrings for your face shape

Styling Jewelry Guide

The basic principle in beauty and styling is creating balance and proportion.

Here are some quick tips to help you figure out which face shape you are and what’s the easiest way to find which earrings are perfect for your particular face!

First step: take a look in the mirror and find the widest part of your face!

If the widest part in your face is…

…your forehead, you have an oval shaped face.

…your cheek line, you have a rounded shaped face.

…your jaw line, you have a square face shape shaped face.

So here are some things we can pay attention to when aiming to create balance:

A Rounded face will be flattered mostly by geometric shapes and length and we will try to avoid round studs earrings and rounds shapes in general. If you have a short neckline don’t let the earrings get really long because then it will shorten your neck.

A Square face has a strong bone structure and mostly a dominant jaw line. Our goal is to take the attention from the lower part of the face and shift the attention to the cheeks. Choose earrings with the weight focused at the top and not ones that are heavy at the bottom.

An oval face is pretty easy to handle, but if you have a pointed chin more volume at the button close to the jaw line will be the best balance in this case .

Oblong face shape – balance the length of the face with round, soft amorphous shapes to get a fuller look and most importantly: avoid emphasizing your face length with extra long earrings.

I hope this gave you some new ideas on how to pick the earrings that flatter you the most.
